Getting Started
Initial visits and evaluations to assess woodland potential are made
without cost to the woodland owner. At this time discussions regarding
possible actions to be taken might lead to forest management planning
and a possible timber harvest to begin forest regeneration.
A brief telephone conversation with the woodland owner prior to a visit
will qualify that the woodland will benefit from out professional forestry
services. During this conversation, woodland attributes such as species,
age, previous harvesting activity, easements, local zoning ordinances,
and geophysical characteristics will be discussed to ascertain whether
or not there could be limitations to anticipated forest management actions.
If it appears that Antietam Forestry Consultants will be able to perform
management activities that will improve the woodland, possible actions
to be undertaken will be presented to the owner in the form of a written
proposal and contract.
