Our Mission
Although most Pennsylvania residents are not woodland owners, we are all affected by the health and condition of the forested lands that cover most of our state. Pennsylvania (Penn’s Woods) was named for the bountiful forests the settlers found when they arrived hear more than 300 years ago. Although the original forests were harvested many years ago, Pennsylvania forests that have replaced our original forests continue to be an economically and socially important resource. It is our mission to make sure that people have a help line to answer their forestry related questions and to make sure that we can assist tree owners with any forest management or tree related questions they might have.
