Timber Sale Administration
We administer the sale and harvest of standing timber as part of an overall woodland management program that begins an evaluation of woodland potential and proceeds to the loading and transport of valuable saw timber to a sawmill. We work for the woodland owner and timber seller. Our responsibilities include road and landing design, the filing of any necessary permits (local, state or federal) that might be required.
It should be noted that there are nos out of pocket expenses to the timber
seller due Antietam Forestry Consultants. We are compensated for our professional
services through a commission based on a percentage of the timber sale
revenues. We do not receive any compensation diretly from the seller.
We are paid from money collected from the sale of the timber and only
receive our compensation when the timber is sold. The timber owner is
guaranteed the best price possible for the standing timber through a competitive
bidding process usually including as many as forty area timber buyers.
